Undoubtedly one of the most picturesque small towns in Ontario, beautiful Bracebidge is famous for its abundance of waterfalls (some 22 in all), the most visited of which is located at the end of Manitoba Street. This historic community is fun to explore on foot as the main street rises from the falls in stages, and is where you’ll find numerous boutique stores offering great shopping opportunities, as well as some of Muskoka’s top gastro-pubs and restaurants.
It’s also something of a festival town, including the annual Muskoka Arts and Crafts Show, the Pioneer Power Festival as well as its family-friendly Fall Fair. With the arrival of winter weather, visitors turn up to participate in the Santa’s Village Winter Santa Fest (hosted by one of Muskoka’s top attractions), as well as the excellent Fire and Ice Festival. Other fun things to do include taking in a film at the town’s historic movie theatre, joining in a sporting event like the town’s annual triathlon, or taking a pleasant river cruise aboard the Lady Muskoka.
Bracebridge is also a popular destination for those looking to buy real estate, whether a vacation cottage or a full-time residence.
