The Good Lovelies – The Forest Tour

Looking for fun things to do in Muskoka this summer? Be sure to add the Good Lovelies’ ‘Forest Tour’ stop-over in Gravenhurst to your list, says Contributor Hanna Dykstra

Summer in Muskoka is surely something we all look forward to, whether we’re cottagers or residents. And to celebrate one of cottage country’s most defining attributes – it’s beautiful forests – Canada’s favorite musical trio, The Good Lovelies, are bringing their hugely popular musical talents to the region.

This skilled roots-pop combo arrive for the Muskoka Ontario leg of their Forest Tour on June 3rd, fresh from having played concert in some of North America’s most beautiful places to visit – including some of the most densely forested regions of the continent. Forest destinations they visited along the way include Canmore Alberta, Fernie British Columbia, and even Tacoma Washington in the USA.

You may be still wondering, though, what makes this upcoming event so much more than a typical tour stop? Well, each album purchased during the band’s tour will see two trees planted in Ontario – an addition to the tour that makes fans love the band even more than they already do.

The group will be performing their only Muskoka concert at the Trinity United Church, a beautiful and very unique venue located in the heart of Gravenhurst. But don’t let the word ‘church’ scare you here, as this popular venue is truly a pleasure to experience and is often used by performers, with excellent acoustics guaranteed to enhance the ‘goosebump-inducing’ three part harmony guests will have the pleasure to experience.

The Good Lovelies – holders of nine critically acclaimed releases, a number one single, as well as Juno Award – are known for their ‘green’ initiatives, and are confident the tree planting idea will help reduce the tour’s carbon footprint.

So, act fast, buy a ticket to the show before they sell out. Not only will you be helping the environment, but you’ll also enjoy an amazing evening of music while creating unforgettable memories.

The band’s Gravenhurst show at Trinity United Church starts at 7pm, and tickets are available for just $43. Tickets can be purchased online at the Muskoka Music Festival website here.
